Can I create appointments for past dates and generate invoices afterwards?

A common question among professionals using TMH Suite is whether it is possible to create appointments for past dates in order to record the work done and subsequently generate the relevant invoices.

Can appointments be created for past dates?

This is currently not possible.

TMH Suite does not allow you to create new appointments with a past date.

This means that appointments must be recorded in the calendar at the relevant time or before the session takes place.

Why is there this restriction?

Appointment management, invoicing and clinical follow-up within TMH Suite are designed to ensure consistent and organised traceability of professional activity.

Allowing the retroactive creation of appointments could lead to inconsistencies in areas such as:

●       calendar organisation;

●       tracking of completed sessions;

●       invoicing;

●       reports and statistics;

●       the chronological record of clinical work.

Thus, appointments must already exist in the system, so that they can be correctly linked to payments and invoices.

Can I generate an invoice for a past appointment?

Yes, you can, provided the appointment was created in TMH Suite before the session took place.

In that case, you can easily generate the invoice linked to the confirmed appointment, even if the invoice is downloaded or managed at a later date.

Can I generate an invoice for a past appointment that I did not record?

No, you cannot.

If the appointment was not created beforehand in TMH Suite, it will not be possible to generate a new invoice linked to that past session at a later date.

Invoices can only be generated from appointments already recorded within the platform.

Recommendation

To keep a full clinical and administrative record, we recommend the following:

✅ Enter appointments into the calendar before the session takes place
✅ Keep the patient calendar up to date
✅ Regularly check for appointments that have yet to be entered or invoiced
